Dr. Erica Johnson

Dr. Erica Johnson is a rehabilitation psychologist, research scientist, and Fellow of the American Epilepsy Society directing two of the MEW Network programs, PACES in Epilepsy and Project UPLIFT, from the Health Promotion Research Center at the University of Washington. Since 2008, she has been an investigator in the CDC-funded Managing Epilepsy Well Network, leading investigations of the efficacy and effectiveness of self-management programs.

Dr. Johnson is presently engaged in work to adapt these programs for unique and under-served populations including veterans, adolescents, and people of Hispanic descent. She also has research interests in the areas of neuropsychological and psychosocial aspects of disability, program evaluation, and employment issues for people with epilepsy, and maintains a clinical practice serving individuals with neurological, sensory, and orthopedic disabilities. Today, Dr. Johnson will be speaking about mental health in epilepsy, and a program to prevent and treat depression.
