Dr. Juan Pablo Appendino is a Paediatric Neurologist – Epileptologist at the Alberta Children’s Hospital (ACH)

Dr. Juan Pablo Appendino is a Paediatric Neurologist – Epileptologist at the Alberta Children’s Hospital (ACH) in Calgary, Alberta, CANADA. He is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Paediatrics of the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary.

He is the current President of the Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists (CSCN) and the former Chair of the Canadian Board of Registered Electroencephalography Technologists. He is the Director of the Neuro-Metabolic Therapy service and the Co-Director of the Paediatric Epilepsy Fellowship Program at the ACH.  He has participated in several committees in the Canadian League Against Epilepsy (CLAE), the American Epilepsy Society (AES), and the Ibero-American Academy of Paediatric Neurology. His main clinical-research interest includes EEG-Trends use in neuro-critical monitoring, drug-resistant epilepsy, epilepsy surgery, ketogenic diet and autism.

He is an international reviewer for several journals. He received awards in teaching, research, and humanitarian practice. He has co-authored several papers, written book chapters and conducted clinical research, guiding international students, residents and fellows in their quest for medical excellence…. And he is a surviving father of two teenagers!
