Dr. Janani (Jay) Kassiri, MSc, MD/PhD, FRCPC CSCN Diplomate (EEG) Pediatric Epileptologist, Assistant Professor, Division of Pediatric Neurology ,Stollery Children’s Hospital and University of Alberta

Dr. Kassiri is a Pediatric Epileptologist at the Stollery Children’s Hospital and Assistant Professor at the University of Alberta. 

Her research interest is in improving clinical care for pediatric patients with epilepsy. She is the principal investigator for an Alberta-wide pediatric status epilepticus study, which focuses on improving clinical practices and optimizing treatments of pediatric status epilepticus at the emergency and ambulatory care levels. She is also the co-lead of the Surgical Epilepsy Program and the Female Adolescent Multidisciplinary Epilepsy Program director at the Stoller Children’s hospital and The University of Alberta.

Her passion is to address critical gaps in knowledge of the reproductive endocrine health of adolescent females.  In 2019,  she collaborated with experts from other pediatric subspecialties to develop the Female Adolescent Multidisciplinary Epilepsy (FAME) Clinic at the Stollery Children’s Hospital, the first gender-specific multidisciplinary adolescent clinic in North America.
