Alexandra Carter MD FRCPC CSCN(EEG)
Assistant Professor, Neurology and Epilepsy, University of Saskatchewan
Director, Saskatchewan Epilepsy Program

Dr. Alexandra Carter grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, completing her medical degree and residency training in Adult Neurology at the University of Saskatchewan. She went on to complete fellowship training at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s International Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. There she focused primarily on the surgical management of refractory epilepsy while also developing her interest in treating women with epilepsy, especially during pregnancy. She has continued to pursue these interests in her clinical and academic practice since joining the Saskatchewan Epilepsy Program in 2018. As the medical director of the Saskatchewan Epilepsy program, she is excited to continue to grow the program, which opened the province’s first dedicated Seizure Investigation Unit in 2023. She is a proud mom to 2 beautiful kids with her wonderful husband, enjoying a good Riesling while playing long, overly complicated board games.
