Dr. Natarie Liu, originally from the small town of Oliver, British Columbia, completed her undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia, receiving a double major in both Animal Biology and Political Science. She furthered her education by completing her medical training at the University of Calgary. After completing her residency in Pediatric Neurology at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, she then went on to complete a Pediatric Epilepsy Fellowship at the same institution, focusing on the management of medically refractory epilepsy, including pre-surgical workup and evaluation, continuous EEG monitoring, and the ketogenic diet. 

Along with her husband and three vivacious daughters, Dr. Liu moved to Edmonton during the summer of 2019, and has enjoyed being a part of the epilepsy team at the Stollery Children’s Hospital ever since. She is the physician lead for the ketogenic diet and vagal nerve stimulator programs, with a practice engaged in both inpatient and outpatient interactions. Her research focuses on improving the quality of life for children with epilepsy and their families, and she is excited to continue to work together with families towards this goal.
